World AIDS Day Celebration in Kishoreganj
A colorful rally and discussion meeting was organized by the Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon’s Office on the occasion of World AIDS Day. On Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11 am, the rally left the Civil Surgeon’s Office premises and circled the important roads of the city. Various government and private organizations, NGO representatives, health workers, students and local people participated in the rally.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Civil Surgeon’s Office. Under the chairmanship of Deputy Civil Surgeon of Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon’s Office Dr. Md. Didarul Islam and the moderation of Dr. Minhazur Rahman, Medical Officer Dr. Shamima Sultana presented a power point on the theme of “Remove all obstacles – Build an AIDS-free society”. The speech was delivered by Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim, Research Officer of the District Education Office AKM Nadiruzzaman, Senior Health Education Officer Mohammad Obaidul Haque, Executive Director of WEP Md. Mizanur Rahman Ripon, Representative of Bandhu Social Welfare Society Subrata Chandra Dey and Representative of Nura Health Hafsa Afrin. District Correspondent of Daily Morning Glory Md. Faizul Haque Golap, Executive Director of RDO Rubina Akhter, Executive Director of Bharani Samaj Kalyan Sangstha Md. Azizul Haque Fahim, representatives of print and electronic media and officers/employees of the Civil Surgeon’s Office were present as invited guests. The speakers said that a coordinated government-private initiative is needed to increase awareness about AIDS and reduce risks. It is very important to provide accurate information about HIV, especially among adolescents, young people and vulnerable people. The speakers also said, “To prevent HIV, we need to develop a mindset of regular testing, safe behavior, and eliminating discrimination.”
