Inter-College Sports Competition Returns After 15 Years: Cox’s Bazar District Qualifying Round Concludes

After a long interval of 15 years, the Chattogram Education Board has successfully completed the district-level qualifying round of the Inter-College Sports Competition in Cox’s Bazar. The event was inaugurated on 1 December 2025 at the Cox’s Bazar Government College ground, with participation from students of various colleges across the district.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Sarowar Alam, College Inspector of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chattogram. Professor Mohang Amirul Anwar Chowdhury, Principal of Cox’s Bazar Government College, presided over the ceremony. Additionally, Associate Professor Mohammad Nazim Uddin, Department of Botany at Cox’s Bazar Government College, served as the convener of the district-level organizing committee. In his inaugural speech, Professor Dr. Sarowar Alam said, “Sports play a vital role in instilling discipline, teamwork, and mental strength in young students. Beyond winning or losing, such competitions significantly contribute to shaping their future with confidence and resilience.” Presiding over the event, Principal Professor Mohang Amirul Anwar Chowdhury said, “The revival of this sports competition after many years is truly inspiring for students. Alongside academic studies, sports help build confidence and guide students toward success in life.” Following the inauguration, separate track and field events were held for male and female participants.

Kutubdia Government College: Winners in 100m sprint, 400m sprint, 4×400m relay, and high jump Cox’s Bazar Government College: Winners in 1500m race and discus throw Dulahazara Degree College: Winners in long jump and javelin throw

Ukhiya College: Dominated with victories in five events -200m, 400m, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw
Cox’s Bazar Government Women’s College: Winners in 100m sprint and high jump Chakaria Residential Women’s College: Winners in 4×400m relay and discus throw The winners of this qualifying round will now represent Cox’s Bazar district at the main Inter-College Sports Competition organized by the Chattogram Education Board.
After many years, such a vibrant and enthusiastic sports event has sparked renewed excitement among students, teachers, and parents across the district.
