The inauguration of the free seeds and agricultural inputs distribution program among small and marginal farmers to increase the production of Ufshi and hybrid boer rice in the Rabi season of the 2025-26 fiscal year was held at the Shalikha Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Thursday, November 27. Magura Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Mahmud spoke as the chief guest at the event. He said that technology should be used in agriculture and pesticides should be used according to the rules. Pesticides are very harmful to our next generation. He added that there is adequate fertilizer stock in the country. There will be no shortage of fertilizer during the season. He requested everyone to keep an eye on the issue of fertilizer smuggling through the border areas of the district.
Shalikha Upazila Executive Officer Md. Boni Amin was present as the president. Md. Tajul Islam, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Khamarbari Magura, was present as a special guest. Shalikha Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agronomist Md. Abul Hasan, gave a technical discussion.
