90 thousand yaba recovered in Cox’s Bazar, bus helper arrested

A drug dealer with a huge quantity of yaba has been arrested in a drive by the Cox’s Bazar District Detective Branch (DB) Police.
The drive was conducted by the District Detective Branch (DB) Police based on a tip-off at approximately 10:55 pm on November 28, 2025.
The DB Police said that a temporary check post was set up on the Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway opposite Nurpara Rubber Garden in Joarianala Union of Ramu Police Station based on information that drugs were being smuggled in a passenger bus named “Euro Coach”.
Later, the bus bearing Dhaka Metto-B-15-8171 was stopped when it reached the check post and the bus helper Abu Bakkar Siddique was arrested.
At one stage of interrogation, the arrested helper admitted to having drugs in his custody.
Later, at 11:45 pm, the luggage box of the bus was searched in front of the witnesses present and 90,000 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from his custody.
The arrested person is Abu Bakkar Siddique (27), father of deceased Md. Modachher Hawlader, village – Kismat Rampur, Madhabkhali Union, Mirzaganj Police Station, Patuakhali District.
Police said that 90,000 Yaba and a piece of luggage were seized in the operation.
The process of taking necessary legal action against the arrested accused is underway.
