On the occasion of November 25, No Violence Against Women Day, a seminar and reception titled “The Role of Media in Preventing Violence Against Women” and a digital journalism training workshop were held at the Shahbag National Museum Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium at 3 pm on Tuesday, November 25, organized by Monthly Manab Jiban, Manab Jiban.com and Unity for Young Journalists. The workshop was attended by 30 journalists from different districts and upazilas. In addition, the country’s distinguished people were awarded the Desh Barenya Sammana 25 and Alokit Nari Sammana 25 at the event.

The organization’s advisor and professor of the Department of Zoology, DU, was in the chair, and Justice Faisal Mahmud Faizi, former judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest, and Ekushey Padak-winning Nazrul Sangeet artist Professor Ferdous Ara was the main discussant.

Bangla TV director Mir Shams Shantanu, Dhaka 7 constituency MP candidate Haji Mohammad Monir Hossain, popular news anchors Farzana Karim and Lion M Alamgir, and Griha Sukhan chairman Rima Zulfiqar were present as special guests.

The event was graced by the president of the organization, Bangladesh Television reporter Nasir Uddin, Manabjiban.com editor and organization secretary general Imdadul Haque Tayyab, and treasurer RK Mondal.

After the discussion, the chief guest of the event handed over crests, certificates, and uttaria to the experts and trainees.
