With the slogan “Local breeds, modern technology – livestock will improve”, the Livestock Exhibition Fair-2025 was held in Kumarkhali, Kushtia with various arrangements.The exhibition fair was held at JN Secondary School grounds on Wednesday (November 26) at 10 am. Organized by the Upazila Administration and Upazila Livestock Officer’s Office, Kumarkhali, Kushtia, a colorful rally started from the premises of the Kumarkhali Livestock Office and after parading the main roads of the city, it met at the JN Secondary School grounds for a discussion. Upazila Executive Officer SM Mikhail Islam was the chief guest at the event, presided over by Kumarkhali Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Alamgir Hossain. Heads of various departments of the upazila, journalists from various print and electronic media and farmers were also present. Farmers from different areas of the upazila participated in the exhibition with stalls. The stalls had animals of various species including high-quality cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, cats, pigeons, poultry, birds. Chief guest SM Mikhail Islam said in his speech, “The contribution of the livestock sector to the country’s economy is undeniable. The youth should come forward in this sector to eliminate unemployment and become self-reliant.” After the opening discussion, he visited each stall set up at the fair with the guests and inquired about the breeds and care of their livestock with the farmers.
The president said in his speech, “The main aim of this exhibition is to increase the production of livestock through the use of modern technology and to make the general public aware of meeting their nutritional needs.” At the end of the program, prizes were distributed to the participants in different categories, determining the first, second and third places. The event was supported by the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP), Department of Livestock, Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Resources. The event was moderated by Masud Rana.
