National Livestock Week-2025 inaugurated in Gopalganj

Like the rest of the country, the National Livestock Week-2025 was inaugurated in Gopalganj with various arrangements.
Organized by the Upazila Livestock Department Veterinary Hospital Gopalganj Sadar, Gopalganj, the National Livestock Week program was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Deputy Secretary) Md. Arif-uz-Zaman as the chief guest today (November 26) at 12 noon. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner participated in a colorful procession with all the invitees keeping in mind the theme “Local breeds, modern technology – livestock will improve”. Later, he inspected various live stocks participating in the livestock fair exhibition on the occasion of the Livestock Week celebration and spoke directly with the entrepreneurs and farmers who came to the exhibition and expressed hope that the district administration would continue to provide all-round support to the livestock department in providing various assistance.
Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer M, Rakibul Hasan presided over the welcoming speech by Gopalganj District Livestock Officer Dr. Gobinda Chandra Sardar. Then, farmers Gautam Biswas and Reshma Begum spoke. Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Deputy Secretary) Md. Arif-uz-Zaman spoke as the chief guest at the event. Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M, Rakibul Hasan presided over the event. Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Priyanka Rani Modak moderated the program and special guests included Gopalganj OJOPADICO Executive Engineer Md. Main Uddin, Gopalganj Agricultural Extension Department Additional Director (Grains) Sanjay Kumar Kundu, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Ataur Rahman, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Prabhas Chandra Sen, OJOPADICO Assistant Engineer Md. Selim Hossain. Entrepreneurs and farmers from different areas of the upazila, as well as media personnel working in various print and digital media in the district, were present at the event.
District Livestock Officer Dr. Gobinda Chandra Sardar presented various programs of the current government in a beautiful and smooth manner in his speech, highlighting the benefits that entrepreneurs and farmers will get for free. He also highlighted the program of providing free cow milk to the students of three (03) educational institutions (one primary school, one secondary school and one madrasa) of the district on the occasion of the celebration of Livestock Week. In addition, entrepreneurs and farmers participating in the fair from remote areas of the upazila exhibited improved breeds of cows, goats, poultry, pigeons, improved breeds of dogs and cats, as well as eggs of various animals and birds.
