Newly appointed Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury of Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar has said that no matter how powerful the irregularities, corruption and usurpers are in Ramu, no one will be spared, all the criminals will be brought to justice under strict punishment.
He has conducted a drive to evict illegally built shops to restore traffic congestion and market order in the Eidgarh Bazar area for a long time.
Ramu Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury participated in the drive to evict illegal establishments occupying the side of Eidgarh Bazar Road on Tuesday, November 25 at around 11 am and laid the foundation stone of the Boughata-Natunpara Road.
At this time, the newly appointed Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Executive Magistrate Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury also said that just as the law enforcement agencies are strictly ensuring the safety of the lives and property of the residents of Ramu Upazila, the administration is also paying special attention to ensuring the smooth movement of young students studying in schools and colleges in the area under the jurisdiction of the upazila. The upazila administration is committed to preventing drug use, prostitution and smuggling in Ramu Upazila.
However, along with the administration, the public must be vigilant against drugs. The current generation must be protected from the scourge of drugs at any cost. The administration has taken strict action against these criminals, who are ruining the reputation of the area through sand smuggling, terrorism and robbery. The administration and the conscious public are working together to root out the roots of terrorism. He urged everyone to be vigilant to prevent any untoward incident and requested them to immediately inform the law enforcement agencies if such a situation arises.
In view of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election, the UNO inspected various polling stations in Eidgarh Union, checked the quality of education in educational institutions and monitored various government service activities. At that time, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury Ramu said that he was working tirelessly on the instructions of the government to ensure that the people in 11 unions of the upazila can exercise their voting rights without any hindrance. Present at the drive and inspection were Acting Chairman of Eidgarh Union Md. Jasim Uddin Sikder, In-charge (SI) of Eidgarh Police Outpost Md. Khurshed Alam, President of Eidgarh Union BNP Md. Doctor M Ibrahim Babul, President of the Market Traders Management Committee Md. Nurul Huda, Jubo Dal member secretary Ahsan Ullah, union parishad members, local political leaders, village police, upazila administration officials and local journalists. Regarding the eviction drive, UNO Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury said, “There was a long-standing plan on how to bring Eidgarh Bazaar under control.
Many illegal shops and establishments built around the market occupied the road, causing severe traffic jams for a long time.
An important part has been evicted in the drive. This is our initiative to bring the market under control.” He further said, “We are trying to solve the problems of the union in stages. We are visiting the polling stations with the national elections in mind. We are checking where there are challenges or facilities. Along with this, the quality of education in local educational institutions and whether there are any irregularities in the distribution of rice under the food-friendly program will also be investigated,” said Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury. Local businessmen applauded Upazila Executive Officer Md. Erfanul Haque Chowdhury and said that for a long time, there was crowding and traffic jams in the market due to the encroachment of shops on the side of the road. They expressed hope that the eviction drive will bring relief to pedestrians and vehicles.
