Press conference of Mahila Parishad in Netrakona
A press conference was organized by the Legal Aid Sub-Council of the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad District Branch.
The Mahila Parishad District Branch organized this press conference at the Mahila Parishad office in Azhar Road area of the district town on Tuesday afternoon.
Highlighting the activities of November 2024 – November 2025 in the press conference, Taheja Begum Annie, General Secretary of the Mahila Parishad District Committee, said that 44 of the 58 complaints were investigated.
35 people have returned to their families after being resolved through arbitration. Both parties have taken time off for two unresolved cases.
Four have been paid dowry through divorce. Three have been sent to the National Legal Aid Organization for cases. As both parties have not been resolved by November 2024-25, seven lakh fifty thousand taka has been paid dowry through divorce and distributed to the victims.
He further said, ‘Say no to all forms of violence against women and girls, including cyber violence, and ensure the advancement of women and girls.’ Presided over by Rehana Siddiqui, President of the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad District Branch Also present were President Sefali Rani Saha, Training Secretary Fahmina Sultana, Legal Aid Secretary Farhana Akhter, and others.
