Hatiya Police Station has arrested Shamim (29), the main organizer of the much-discussed spray party in Hatiya Upazila, an isolated island in Noakhali. A country-made one-shooter gun and two rounds of cartridges were recovered from him at that time. Hatiya Police Station OC AKM Ajmal Huda confirmed this information to the media in a press release on Monday (November 24) evening. The arrested Shamim is the son of one Shafiul Alam of Burir Char Union in Hatiya Upazila. He was arrested from his own house area through a special operation on Saturday (November 22) night. Hatiya Police Station OC AKM Ajmal Huda said that in the past few months, there have been incidents of theft of goods by using spray to knock everyone unconscious in various houses in Hatiya. He also said that after the arrest, the smuggler Shamim alias Spray Shamim gave a confessional statement in the court. Seven other cases filed against him earlier are under investigation at the police station. Many others are involved with the arrested Shamim. The demand of the area residents is to bring everyone under the law.
