Gender Awareness and Violence Prevention Training Held in Fulchhari

A meeting was held on gender awareness and violence prevention training in Fulchhari, Gaibandha.
On Thursday morning, a day-long gender awareness and violence prevention training organized by the Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) was held in the meeting room of Dakshin Burail Government Primary School in the upazila with the slogan “Build a Bangladesh of Peace and Harmony, Not Conflict”.
The training was organized by The Hunger Project Bangladesh’s Multi-Stakeholder Initiative for Peace and Stability (MIPS) project. The training was conducted by SM Shafiqur Rahman, Area Coordinator of The Hunger Project Bangladesh, and Farida Yasmin, Field Coordinator.
The training participants participated in effective exercises on gender awareness, gender roles and needs, equality and fairness, freedom of expression, social harmony and conflict prevention.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Fulchhari Upazila PFG Coordinator Shamsujoha Bablu, and was attended by Fulchhari Upazila BNP President Sadequl Islam Nannu, Organizing Secretaries Iqbal Hossain and HM Solaiman Shahid, Upazila Workers Welfare Federation President Abdul Alim, Gaibandha District Spokesperson of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Zahid Hasan Jibon, Oriya UP Panel Chairman Abdul Mannan, Oriya Union Jatiya Party President Shafi Alam, freedom fighter Sayed Ahmed Dulu, women leader Manjuara Begum, PFG ambassadors and various political and social figures.
The speakers pledged to work together to establish peace, prevent violence and maintain social harmony.
They said such initiatives would inspire the development of positive and responsible leadership in society.
The members present at the meeting adopted an action plan to organize various peace events, inter-religious dialogues, celebrate national and international days in Fulchhari Upazila, and involve people regardless of party affiliation to resolve political, religious and ethnic violence.
