Agricultural incentive paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed to 1,440 small and marginal farmers in Kaliganj, Gazipur.
Free seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed to small and marginal farmers under the incentive program in the 2025-26 Rabi season to increase the production of Ufshi and hybrid varieties of Boro paddy. On Thursday morning, organized by the Upazila Administration and Agricultural Extension Department, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Krishibid Farzana Taslim, presided over the free seeds and chemical fertilizers distribution program among small and marginal farmers Upazila Nirbahi Officer ATM Kamrul Islam was present as the chief guest.
Among others, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Abul Kalam Azad, Agricultural Extension Officer Mahfuza Akhter, Additional Agriculture Officer Nahin Sultana, Assistant Agriculture Officer Hasan Ali, Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer Md. Akhteruzzaman, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of various unions and local media personnel were present at the event.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Farzana Taslim said that in the 2025-26 fiscal year, 5 kg of Ufshi Boro rice cut seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, 10 kg of MOP fertilizer and 2 kg of hybrid rice seeds were distributed free of cost to 840 farmers in seven unions and one municipality of the upazila.
