Newly appointed DC Arif-uz-Zaman expresses strong determination to make Gopalganj a modern and model district

The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Deputy Secretary) of Gopalganj district, Md. Arif-uz-Zaman, took charge and exchanged views with journalists working in Gopalganj at the “Meet the Press” program organized at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room ‘Swachhta’ on Tuesday (November 18) at 4:45 pm. During this time, he discussed in detail the overall development of the district, administrative activities, service delivery process and working in coordination with the media.
Speaking as the chief guest at the exchange of views, Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman said, “Gopalganj is a unique district of development and peace. If the administration and the media work together, it will be easier to serve the people. Along with development activities, the constructive role of journalists is very important in reducing corruption, irregularities and suffering.” The event was attended by Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Amit Deb Nath, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) SM Tarek Sultan, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Ataur Rahman, NDC Aniruddha Deb Roy, journalists working in various electronic and print media in the district and leaders of various journalist-related organizations. In the exchange of views, journalists working in various print and electronic media in Gopalganj drew the attention of the Deputy Commissioner on various issues including the problems, prospects and obstacles in news gathering in the district. The Deputy Commissioner listened to these demands and suggestions carefully and assured of providing necessary cooperation. At the end of the event, the Deputy Commissioner thanked the journalists and expressed the hope that such exchanges would continue regularly in the future.
Then he also exchanged views with the heads of departments working in various government and private offices in the district. Later in the afternoon, he paid a courtesy call on Senior District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Shamsul Haque of the Gopalganj District and Sessions Judge Court. Other judges, officers and employees of the Gopalganj Judicial Division were present at the time. Earlier, Gopalganj District Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Deputy Secretary) Md. Arif-uz-Zaman at his office and exchanged floral greetings.
