Motorcycle Driver Stabbing Murder in Mohanganj
A hired motorcycle driver named Sohag Mia (45) was allegedly stabbed to death and his motorcycle was stolen in Mohanganj district. The incident took place at Bausha on the Suair-Atpara road in Mohanganj around 10:30 pm on Tuesday. The deceased motorcycle driver Sohag Mia is the son of the late Matiur Rahman of Mendipur village in the neighboring Khaliajuri upazila. He had been earning his living by riding a hired motorcycle for the past 5 years, said his wife Azida Akhter. According to police, hospital and family sources, Sohag Mia, son of the late Matiur Rahman of Mendipur village, had been earning his living by riding a hired motorcycle for the past 5 years. On Tuesday morning, he came to the hospital to inquire about the treatment of his ailing wife Azida Akhter, who was admitted to the Mohanganj Hospital. Later, he stayed with his wife for an hour. Later, he left the hospital and took his motorcycle to his professional work. In this situation, at around 10:30 pm that day, other motorcyclists saw motorcyclist Sohag lying in a bloody state on the side of a deserted road called Bausha on the Mohanganj-Atpara road. Later, they rescued him from the scene and quickly took him to the emergency department of Mohanganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, the doctor on duty there declared Sohag dead after many tests. However, the doctor said that he died on the spot due to excessive bleeding due to a deep stab wound to his right rib. Later, upon receiving information, the Mohanganj Police Station recovered the body of the deceased Sohag from the health complex and sent it to the Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, upon learning about the matter, Azida Akhter, the wife of the deceased motorcyclist Sohag, who was admitted to the health complex, rushed to the emergency department at night and broke down in tears after seeing her husband’s body there. At that time, she said, “Where will I go with my four small children now?” She demanded exemplary punishment for them. In this regard, Mohanganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aminul Islam PPM said, “It is initially believed that the murder may have happened to snatch the motorcycle.” Upon receiving the information, we recovered the body of the deceased from Mohanganj Hospital and sent it to Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
