The body of Upazila Jubo League leader Aminul Islam Howlader (42) was recovered from the bottom of a pond in his house in Kamalapur village of Khanjapur union in Gournadi upazila of Barisal on Sunday morning by the Gournadi Model Police Station. He is the middle son of the deceased freedom fighter Jahangir Howlader of the village. The police recovered the body and sent it to the Barisal morgue for autopsy that afternoon. Khanjapur Union Jubo League President Md. Farid Hossain Bepari said that the deceased Aminul Islam Howlader was a member of the Upazila Jubo League. Parveen Akhter, wife of the deceased Aminul Islam Howlader, said that he left the house at around 10:30 pm on Saturday while talking on the phone. Even after a long time, my husband did not return home, so I started searching with my family. My husband Aminul did not return home at night. In the morning, my family members saw my husband’s phone and blood on the pond’s edge, and informed the police.
The police recovered the body. My husband was killed in a planned manner. Gournadi Model Police Station OC Md. Tariqul Islam said, after receiving the information, we reached the spot with the accompanying force and searched a lot in the pond. At one point, we recovered Aminul’s body from under the pond. The deceased Aminul has injury marks on various parts of his body. The body has been sent to the Barisal Morgue for autopsy.
