Army arrests 3 with weapons in special operation in Boalkhali
The army has arrested Awami League leader Nurul Amin (46) and Islamic Front leader Mohammad Abu Naser Jilani (52) and Mohammad Shahadat Hossain (42) with weapons and cocktail explosives in Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong.
On Wednesday (November 12) evening, based on secret information, Camp Commander of Boalkhali Army Camp under the control of Adhoc 48 Air Defense Regiment Captain Sheikh Abrar Fayyaz conducted a special operation and arrested the three of them.
At that time, 1 shotgun, 4 cocktail explosives, 1 shotgun ammunition, 4 mobile phones and 89 thousand 20 taka cash were seized from the wire.
Captain Sheikh Abrar Fayyaz, Camp Commander of Boalkhali Army Camp under the control of the Ad Hoc 48 Air Defense Regiment, said, “Initial investigation revealed that the arrested Nurul Amin has been accused of occupying the polling station with weapons in all the past national elections at Sikdaria School, extortion, encroachment, and occupying the Soukhin City Market located in Chowdhuryhat on January 15, 2015 through armed shooting.
For the past few days, all those arrested were planning sabotage on the farm centered on November 13.
They were handed over to the Boalkhali Police Station for further legal proceedings along with the seized goods in a healthy condition.
