A young man named Firoz Ahmed (33) has died after consuming poisonous gas tablets in Ullapara, Sirajganj.
After consuming gas tablets on Saturday afternoon, he was first taken to Kawak 30 Sharshya Hospital and then to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital and died on the way to Dhaka at night.
Firoz is the son of Jamser Ali, former general secretary of Koyra Union Chhatra League in the upazila and a resident of Koyra Khamarpara village.
Locals said that Firoz was involved in business and political activities.
Depressed by political and economic pressure, he hid his family members from his family and ate poisonous gas tablets at his house on Saturday afternoon.
When his family members came to know about the matter, they first took him to Kawak 30 Sharshya Hospital for treatment.
When his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Later, he died on the road while being taken to Dhaka from there.
Firoz’s elderly father Jamshed said that he has a wife and two children. Only God knows how their future life will be. Who did the father take pride in and leave emptying my chest?
Ullapara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibul Hasan said that upon receiving the information, the body was recovered and sent to the Sirajganj Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy on Sunday morning. A UD case has been filed in this incident.
