After the news of irregularities on the road leading to Ruposhi Mangrove (Mini Sundarbans), one of the district’s entertainment spots, was published, it came to the attention of the district’s senior authorities. On Sunday, 2 officials came to inspect the work and inquire about the complaints of the locals. Faisal Hossain’s contracting company was awarded the work of developing the road leading to Ruposhi Mangrove tourist center in Debhata. But after various complaints were raised from the beginning of this work, the Upazila Executive Officers stopped it several times. The contractor concerned started working again on Saturday and resorted to irregularities. In the face of public protests, the current Upazila Executive Officer Milon Saha ordered to stop the irregularities and complete the work in the correct manner. Meanwhile, when work resumed on Sunday morning, Upazila Engineer Dutee Mondal, Deputy Assistant Engineer Shafiqul Islam and other concerned started supervising from the morning. As the day progressed, Satkhira District Senior Assistant Engineer Md. Rajiullah arrived there. Later, District Executive Engineer A.S.M. Tariqul Hasan Khan came to inspect the area. During this time, the District Executive Engineer spoke to the locals and inquired about the road carpeting. Along with this, the officer gave various instructions to prevent irregularities. The villagers present there said, we want this road to be worked well. Because hundreds of vehicles will travel to and from the Ruposhi Mangrove tourist center through this road in the coming winter season. If the road is not good, the suffering of the people on this road will increase. Satkhira District LGED Executive Engineer A.S.M. Tariqul Hasan Khan said, we will come for supervision after learning about the complaint. We want to gain the trust of the people within our limits and implement rural development work. Our office is working towards that goal.
