Anti-social activities are going on in the name of the park, locals demand closure
Anti-social activities are going on freely in the name of the park in Kishoreganj, Nilphamari. The visitors of this park are school and college students. As a result, the locals have strongly demanded the closure of the park to prevent moral degradation among boys and girls in the area.
It is learned that Happy Palace Mini Park has been built without any legal papers on the side of the Rangpur-Jaldhaka mini highway in Sonakuri Dharaya Bazar of Ranchandi Union of the upazila. Anti-social activities are going on freely in the name of this park.
On going to the spot, it was seen that the park is decorated with creeper species of flowers and there are small straw hut houses inside the park. Those houses are surrounded by flower branches. They look just like the nests of sparrows. In each house, a boy and a girl can be seen in an objectionable position. These boys and girls are all students from class 8 to 12. Talking to them, it was learned that some came here with their boyfriends and some with their friends. Among them, a girl student of class 9 complained that her friend took her for a walk and tried to force her to do anti-social activities. She reported the incident to the owner of the park, Wajid Rahman. But the owner of the park threatened her to release the CCTV camera pictures on social media.
Shahabul Islam, a wood furniture businessman adjacent to the park, lamented to reporters that those who came here to take action have become managers. If you write to stop this filth, you will do the full work. I can no longer see this filth day and night. Many like him have complained to the relevant authorities to close the park but have not received any results. The owner of the park, Wajid Rahman, denied these allegations and said that the park is only made for the entertainment of children.
When talking to Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pritam Saha in this regard, he said, “I have received such complaints. I have attached the source. Action will be taken against those involved in anti-social activities.”
