The upazila general election of the Motor Vehicle Workers Union branch of the Motor Vehicle Workers Union (Reg. No. 2574) will be held in Durgapur Upazila of the district on Friday, October 24.
A lot of enthusiasm has been observed among the voters and candidates surrounding this election. On the spot, it was seen that 3 candidates are contesting for the post of President, 2 for the post of General Secretary, 2 for the post of Vice President and 3 for the post of Office Secretary in this election of 2951 voters. Out of these, the remaining 6 candidates have been elected unopposed.
Osman Gani is contesting the election for the post of President under the DAB symbol, Sumon Mia is contesting for the bicycle symbol, and Babul Mia is contesting for the post of Wall Clock symbol.
Nurul Haque is contesting for the post of General Secretary with the wheel symbol and Rokon Uddin with the motorcycle symbol, Manik Fakir with the chair symbol and Nazrul Islam with the hurricane symbol for the post of Vice President, Nojibur Rahman Saikat with the pineapple symbol and Ujjwal Dey with the ladder symbol for the post of Office Secretary. The advisors in charge of the election have said that voting will continue in the election of the Motor Vehicle Employees’ Union from 8 am to 4 pm on Friday. The administration will be responsible for the overall security of the election and we hope that no untoward incident will occur.
