The country’s largest professional organization Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB), Pabna’s newly formed district committee has been formed with Pabna Polytechnic Institute’s Instructor (Civil) Md. Mohsin Ali as the president and Pabna Public Works Department’s Deputy Assistant Engineer (Civil) Md. Delwar Hossain as the general secretary.
Other members of the 21-member committee are Md. Ujjal Hossain, Sub-Divisional Engineer of the Public Works Department and Mir Md. Abu Zafar, Instructor of TSC, Vice-President, Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Deputy Assistant Engineer of Roads, Joint General Secretary, Md. Rakibul Islam, Finance Secretary, Trade Instructor, Md. Salman Farsi, Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Department of Education Engineering, Organizational Secretary, Md. Rajib Hossain, Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Water Development Board, Job Affairs Secretary, Md. Sumon Hossain, Junior Instructor of TSC, Library and Office Secretary, Kazi Shahidul Islam, Public Relations and Publicity Secretary, FDEB leader and prominent businessman Md. Nasir Uddin, Literature, Culture and Publication Secretary, Nur Jahan Khatun, Assistant Engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering, Social Welfare Secretary, Md. Saiful Islam, U.S. Engineer of Pabna Municipality, Science and Technology Secretary, DEB Pabna Joint Convener Md. Shakil Biswas is the Information and Research Secretary, Polytechnic Institute Instructor Aftan Sultana is the Women and Family Welfare Secretary, TTC Chief Instructor Md. Monirul Islam is the Education and Training Secretary, Polytechnic Junior Instructor Md. Ujjal Hossain is the Student Affairs Secretary.
The executive members are Jeevan Bima Corporation District Manager Engineer Md. Ataur Rahman, LGED Assistant Engineer Md. Rafiqul Islam, District Council Assistant Engineer Md. Altaf Hossain, BMDA Assistant Engineer Md. Abdul Khalek.
According to IDEB’s constitution, the district committee is formed for 03 years through elections, but due to the changed environment on 05 August, the activities of the previous committee became obsolete.
In order to activate the stalled activities and to organize the elections, on July 16, 2025, more than a hundred diploma engineers from various service associations, businessmen and job seekers met in an emergency meeting at the Pabna District Council hall under the chairmanship of Engineer Md. Rakibul Hasan, Convener of the Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh (DEAB) Pabna District Branch.
The decision to dissolve the previous committee and form a new committee was unanimously adopted in the meeting.
Upon request, the IDEB Interim Central Committee approved the Pabna District Executive Committee for the next 03 years on October 19, 2025.
