A complaint has been received that Tarif (15), an 8th grade student, was lured from in front of Matarbari High School in Maheshkhali Upazila and taken to an unknown place and demanded 5 lakh dowry.
The girl’s father Md. Ali filed a written complaint with Maheshkhali Police Station on August 6, 2 days after the incident.
In the complaint, he said that Nahida used to propose marriage to Tarif, the son of Mujib and Arifa Akhtar, a resident of Dakshin Rajghat. But since the girl was not yet an adult, he rejected it.
After that, he often disturbed her on the streets. He tolerated it to protect his daughter’s honor. In this situation, on August 4, at 2 pm, after school, Nahida was returning home, Tarif, with the instigation of her parents, lured Nahida from in front of the school and kidnapped her. He has filed a written complaint in this regard with Maheshkhali Police Station. In this situation, Tarif, along with his relatives, took a joint photo with the missing Nahida and sent it to the plaintiff Md. Ali.
In order to complete the marriage according to Sharia, Tarif’s family will have to pay a dowry of 5 lakh taka from the bride.
Otherwise, the marriage will not take place. They will make fun of the name of marriage. Even the girl will be sent back after a few days.
In this way, instead of presenting the girl, they have been constantly damaging the honor of the plaintiff by making various excuses.
Tarif’s family is trying to reason with the father of the abductee in this way by luring a schoolgirl. The victim’s father, Md. Ali of Sikder Para, Matarbari, said, After a long search, he found out that Tarif (27), son of Mujib and Arifa Akhtar, a resident of Dakshin Rajghat in Matarbari Union, had abducted the girl on August 4 while she was returning home from school. After trying to rescue her from his clutches, she failed and finally filed a case with Maheshkhali Police Station on August 6, accusing Tarif and his mother and father.
The victim’s father, Md. Ali of Sikder Para, Matarbari, also said that his teenage daughter is being harassed by hypnotizing her, blackmailing her and demanding money. Although the kidnapper has continued to threaten and demand extortion, the Maheshkhali Police Station administration has not been able to rescue the girl even after a month and a half of the incident. The family of the missing Shishori daughter is in panic and anxiety. The kidnapper and his family may kill him and hide the body if they don’t get the money.
