World Handwashing Day celebrated with Colorful rally in Netrokona

“A colorful rally, handwashing demonstration and discussion meeting were held in Netrokona on the occasion of World Handwashing Day. Keeping in mind the theme “Be the Hero of Handwashing”, the District Administration and Public Health Engineering Department, Netrokona organized all these programs at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday morning.

A colorful rally started from in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at 9:45 am to celebrate the day. The rally circled various important roads of the district town and returned to the Deputy Commissioner’s office for a handwashing demonstration.
A discussion meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room at 10 am to mark the occasion of Handwashing Day.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting moderated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rafiquzzaman and chaired by Executive Engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering Md. Nayeb Ali Khan.
Deputy Director of the Local Government Department and Municipal Administrator Mohammad Ariful Islam Sardar and Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Swajal Kumar Sarkar spoke as special guests.
Among others, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asma Binte Rafique, District Primary Education Officer Md. Shahidul Azam, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office Dr. Daud Sharif, journalist of Dainik Inkilab AKM Abdullah, Md. Jinnatul Islam and Rawnak Jahan Tuba on behalf of the students & others.

On the other hand, on the occasion of National Sanitation Month and World Handwashing Day, a rally and discussion meeting were held under the initiative of Netrokona Municipality in collaboration with the Urban Management and Infrastructure Development Project, LGED.
