With the theme ‘Be a Handwashing Hero’, Global Handwashing Day was celebrated in Bandarban with various events like the rest of the world.A hand washing exhibition was jointly organized by the Bandarban District Administration and the Department of Public Health Engineering on Wednesday (October 15) morning.The hand washing exhibition was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Shamim Ara Rini.
The exhibition was held at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.At this time,students from various educational institutions stood in a row and participated in the hand washing exhibition.
Later,a discussion meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room to mark the day.Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) SM Manjurul Haque,Additional Superintendent of Police Jinia Chakma,Additional Deputy Commissioner Md.Abu Taleb and Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department,Bandarban,Anupam Dey were present as special guests.
Speakers at the meeting said, “Hand washing is an important issue for us.Washing our hands at the right time and according to the rules every day kills many germs.As a result,we remain physically healthy.”The speakers also said, “We all need to move forward with the theme of being the hero of hand washing and keeping our bodies healthy.”
In addition,Bandarban Municipal Water Supply Authority Supervisor Md.Julhas Mia,Sadar Upazila Deputy Assistant Engineer Saidul Islam Hasan,Press Club President Aminul Islam Baccu along with senior officials and students were present at the time.
