The Coast Guard has reportedly seized 50,000 pieces of Yaba worth Tk 2.5 crore.
This information was given by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq on the afternoon of October 14.
He said that based on a secret tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Teknaf on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 9 pm in the area along the banks of the Jaliapara Naf River under Teknaf Police Station.
During the operation, a suspicious person, sensing the presence of Coast Guard members, threw a plastic bag into the paddy field on the river bank and quickly fled.
Later, the bag was recovered from the paddy field and 50,000 pieces of Yaba worth about Tk 2.5 crore were seized during a search.
Further legal action against the seized Yaba is under process.
He further said that Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent drug trafficking.
