Sonali Begum, wife of van driver, walks around with her sick baby in her arms to get her husband released on bail
Sonali Begum, wife of van driver Abu Sayeed Molla (23), who is being held as an unknown accused (remanded accused) in a case filed in Gopalganj on July 16 in connection with the NCP rally (Gopalganj GR-278/25), is walking around with her sick baby (9-month-old) Hussain in her arms to get her husband released on bail.
Sonali Begum, wife of van driver, told the media that Abu Sayeed, a helpless daily wage laborer, is actually a van driver.
On August 5, while he was fixing his van in the garage, the police arrested him and sent him to jail. He is not involved in any politics. He used the income he earned by driving the van all day to support me and my three children, including the treatment of my elderly blind mother. No one knows how our family is doing because he is in jail, except Allah. After my husband Abu Sayeed went to jail, my twin baby Hasan died without treatment on October 4.
Since the puja was closed, he was released on parole for two hours with the help of DC Sir and SP Sir through a journalist, and after attending Hasan’s burial, shroud and funeral, he returned to jail.
Currently, my other twin child, Bacha Hussain, is also very sick.
Meanwhile, my husband is in jail as an unknown accused in a case filed by the police. I do not have enough money to go to the High Court and get my husband released on bail.
I have visited all the places in Gopalganj, the Magistrate’s Court, George’s Court, and the Gopalganj District and Sessions Judge Sir’s court (Crime Mis Case No. 1375/2025) and applied for land after much difficulty. Sirs did not release my husband on bail.
My husband is not even the accused in the complaint. If he is proven guilty on the evidence, then the government will give him the punishment that he deserves. I have no objection to that.
But if the government does not arrange for his immediate bail, then it will be difficult to save my innocent baby Hussain and my blind mother-in-law. Therefore, I request the Honorable Chief Advisor, Honorable Legal Advisor and Honorable Home Advisor, Honorable Chief Justice Sir and the state to release my husband on bail immediately. In this regard, Rabiul Mollah, the elder brother of the van driver (accused in custody) Abu Sayeed Mollah, expressed his utmost gratitude to the Gopalganj District Commissioner and uperintendent of Police for releasing him on parole for two hours on the news of the death of his nine (09) month old nephew Hasan Mollah. He also requested the government to quickly release his brother on bail.
