A cousin has been accused of cutting down mango trees to get back his property in Gazaria, Munshiganj.
The incident took place in Paiksharpar village of Bhaberchar union of the upazila.
In this incident, the victim Shahinur Akhter filed a complaint against his cousin and his brother’s wife at the Gazaria police station today, Sunday morning.
The victim Shahinur Akhter said, I have been occupying 5.83 percent of the land in Paiksharpar mouza No. 69, RS Khatian No. 254 RS Dag 30th century and have been occupying it for about 50 years.
My cousin Mosharraf Hossain cut down at least 10 mango trees in the mango orchard in the dark of night to forcibly take possession of the property.
I have suffered a loss of 80 thousand taka due to this. I want justice for them.
I am also demanding compensation for the damage caused by cutting down the mango tree.
However, cousin Mosharraf Hossain denied the allegation and said that a complaint has been filed against me at the police station to falsely frame me.
They have fabricated this false allegation because I went to work at my place.
In this regard, OC Anwar Alam Azad, Officer-in-Charge of Gazaria Police Station, said that he has received the complaint and legal action will be taken after investigation.
