A headmaster Mohammad Kamruzzaman was ambushed at Mawa Bright Pre-Cadet and High School in Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj.
The attack took place in the school’s meeting room around 12 noon on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said that when a student from the school’s play group did not return home after school, the family informed the headmaster about the matter.
Later, the headmaster ordered the teachers to increase their supervision and monitoring of the students’ movements.
At this time, Md. Firoz Khan, a shareholder of the school, suddenly got angry and ambushed the headmaster Kamruzzaman.
The teachers and students of the school were angry and immediately burst into protest and held a protest procession in the school premises.
After the incident, when the situation became heated, the Padma Bridge North Police Station reached the spot after receiving the information and arrested the accused Firoz Khan and took him to the police station.
Padma Bridge (North) Police Station OC Md. Robel Hawlader said, “No written complaint has been received in this incident yet. Appropriate legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.
Firoz Khan has been taken into custody for the time being to keep the situation normal.”
Locals claim that such incidents ruin the environment of educational institutions, so they demand strict action against the culprits immediately.
