Anger has spread among journalists all over Chittagong. Media workers are repeatedly being attacked by the police while performing their professional duties in various ways.

Earlier police beaten & harass  daily jayjaydin reporter in double mooring  police station.  after the incident nothing happened  still now, accused  OC Babul Azad still stay in his Chair.

Today, October 12, Jamuna TV reporter Zobaed ibne sahadat & camera journalists Assaduzzaman limon were beaten up by the police while performing their professional duties.
The incident took place on the orders of the DC of Khulshi Police Station DC North Division of CMP, Amirul Islam, said Jamuna TV reporter.

journalists were given Vua tags when they went to gather news before, now the police themselves have created a mob with the Awami League tag and have beaten up field journalists, said the senior journalist Kamruzzaman Rony.

Journalist Shahnewaz, the Chittagong Bureau Chief of the Journalists’ Association (BSS), He said never ever take law on their hands if the journalist even made any mistakes or do anything unlawful. Now it is turn for real offenders to enjoy the music of the law if even involved any member or officials of law enforcement agencies. We should never tolerate anymore the attack, assault or harassment to journalists if we rightfully try to perform our greater duties entrusted upon us by the nation . I strongly condemn today’s police assault on Jamuna TV reporter Zubayer inside Khulshi police station & camera person also.

So far, the journalists’ organization CRF has issued a written statement regarding this incident, in which the organization’s president Kazi Abul Mansur Chowdhury and general secretary Advocate Golam Maula Murad expressed their condemnation and anger.

When media workers questioned CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz about the incident of beating, he ordered his people to investigate the incident, and assured the journalists present of a fair trial.

Earlier, the CMP Commissioner said, “Last night, we worked until 4 am to control an incident at the GEC intersection, but a TV journalist wrote that the CMP police are struggling to control the situation.”

Here, the CMP Commissioner subconsciously admitted that the police have a pre-planned anger against journalists.

Or, today, something was happening at Khulshi Police Station that if the journalists knew about, it would have caused a big loss to the police’s personal interest.

Now, due to this anger, will the CMP Deputy Police Commissioner take the position of journalists, a human chain program was held in Chittagong, raising the question of whether the CMP Deputy Police Commissioner will take it himself or the CMP Commissioner himself.
