Gazipur City Corporation has held “Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025” to create widespread awareness about typhoid prevention and protect public health.
A press conference was held on this occasion at the meeting room of Nagar Bhaban on Thursday.
Gazipur City Corporation Secretary Amin Al Parvez presided over the program.
Dr. Rahmatullah, Regional Executive Officer Elisha Richil, World Health Organization SI MO (WHO) Dr. Mahbuba Sultana, UNICEF Representative Dr. Lee Shanta Mondal, and journalists from Gazipur’s print and electronic media were present etc.
Secretary Amin Al Parvez said at the press conference that typhoid is a preventable disease.
This vaccination program to protect children will make our future generation healthy and strong.
Gazipur City Corporation has taken this initiative by prioritizing citizen health services.
We want this service to reach every child, so that no child is left out.
He also said that more than 628,000 children will be vaccinated in phases at a total of 975 vaccination centers in 8 zones of the City Corporation.
Active cooperation of health workers, educational institutions, local public representatives and guardians is sought in the vaccination program.
The main goal of this vaccination program, conducted in collaboration with the Health Department, WHO and UNICEF, is to make Gazipur a typhoid-free city.
The secretary said that all necessary preparations for a smooth and successful implementation have already been completed.
