A day-long “Orientation Workshop” on Typhoid Vaccination held with journalists in Bandarban.The workshop was held on Tuesday (October 7) at the District Civil Surgeon Conference Room.The Bandarban District Information Office organized the workshop.Civil Surgeon Dr.Mohammad Shahin Hossain Chowdhury was present as the chief guest.The program was presided over by District Information Officer Md.Anwar Hossen.

At the workshop,Civil Surgeon Dr.Mohammad Shahin Hossain Chowdhury said that typhoid germs spread through contaminated food and water.If the disease is not diagnosed and treated at the right time,it can become fatal.Therefore, vaccination is very important to prevent typhoid.At the same time,he expressed hope that the typhoid vaccination program will be successful with the effective role of journalists.The Civil Surgeon said in the meeting that this time 1 lakh 21 thousand children will be vaccinated against typhoid through 384 centers in the district. Registration activities are ongoing in educational institutions.

Civil Surgeon also Said,the vaccination activities will continue in educational institutions from October 12 to October 30 at the school level and from November 1 to November 13 at the community level.At the time,District Information Officer Md.Anwar Hossen said that today’s workshop was organized by the Bandarban District Information Office to implement the typhoid vaccination program under the project titled “Awareness Promotion Activities for the Development of Children,Adolescents and Women”.He also mentioned that,the UNICEF Bangladesh is providing financial support for this event.At the same time,he called on everyone to work together to make the program a success.

The workshop discussed the duration and registration process of the typhoid campaign vaccination program,vaccination centers (permanent and temporary), symptoms and complications of typhoid fever and what to do in an emergency. Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation Md.Selim Uddin,President of Bandarban Press Club Aminul Islam Bccu,Assistant Director (Administration) of the Department of Mass Communication Hridoy Mahmud Chayan were present as special guests.Journalists from print and electronic media were also present at the time.
