Ramu Battalion (30 BGB), under the Ramu Sector of Cox’s Bazar Region of Border Guard Bangladesh, has been serving as an ever-vigilant guard on the southernmost Bangladesh-Myanmar border of Bangladesh.
In addition to border security, the Ramu Battalion has earned great praise in the civilian community for its proper and effective professional performance in combating smuggling, narcotics, illegal infiltration and inter-state border crimes.
BGB sources also said that on October 7, 2025, at 8:40 am, based on intelligence information, a suspicious motorcycle was seized by strengthening patrol activities at the Marichya Joint Check Post under the Ramu Battalion (30 BGB) under the direction of Lt. Col. Kazi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed.
When the driver, Newaz Uddin Morshed (20), son of Mohammad Hossain of Teknaf, was suspected, he denied it during initial interrogation.
Later, after a thorough search, 22,000 pieces of Burmese Yaba worth Tk 66,00,000/- were recovered, specially hidden inside the air filter of the motorcycle.
