A man named Shahid Mia (55) was killed while getting off a moving train in Purbadhala, Netrakona.
The accident occurred at around 1:30 pm on Monday (September 29) at the Zaria railway station in the upazila. The deceased Shahid Mia is the son of the deceased Suruj Ali of Pilaati village in Narandia union of the upazila. According to local sources, Shahid Mia boarded train no. 374 from his home to Zaria in the afternoon. When the train reached Zaria railway station, he fell down while getting off while it was moving. He suffered a serious head injury and his right leg was crushed. He died on the way to Purbadhala Health Complex after being rescued in a critical condition. In this regard, Shyamganj Railway Police Station SI Nurul Islam said that the body has been recovered. It will be handed over to the family after the legal process is completed.
