Preparatory meeting held in Louhajang on the occasion of Durga Puja
A preparatory meeting has been held in Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj on the occasion of the upcoming autumn Durga Puja celebration. The meeting was organized with the aim of celebrating Durga Puja with due dignity and religious solemnity in 34 puja mandap in 10 unions of the upazila. The meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 11 am on Tuesday at the initiative of the upazila administration. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Nesar Uddin presided over the meeting. He said, “The administration will ensure maximum security to complete Durga Puja peacefully. Law enforcement forces including police, Ansar will be on duty round the clock to maintain order in the puja mandap. There will be separate security arrangements and volunteer teams in each mandap.” It was informed in the meeting that CCTV cameras will be installed in each puja mandap, uninterrupted power supply and fire extinguishing system will be ensured. In addition, separate entry and exit routes will be kept for men and women. The leaders of the Upazila Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council, Puja Celebration Council, presidents-general secretaries of various puja mandap committees, president of the Islamic Foundation, president of the Imam Samiti, political leaders and administrative officials were present in the meeting. This year, the autumn Durga Puja will be held in a total of 34 puja mandap in Louhajang Upazila. The main rituals of the puja will begin from Mahasashti tithi and the puja will end with the immersion of the idol on Vijaya Dashami.
