Looted weapons recovered in Joypurhat
RAB-5, Joypurhat Camp recovered a sound grenade on September 16 early in the morning from Hatil Fakirpara area of sadar upazila among the weapons looted from Joypurhat police station on August 5 last year.
On Tuesday (16th September) in the afternoon, Joypurhat RAB-5 SPC-3 company commander additional police super Nazmul Haque confirmed the incident.
RAB said that a raid was conducted in Hatil Fakirpara area of sadar upazila in the early hours in the morning on a tip-off. Sensing the presence of RAB members, the miscreants managed to flee, leaving the sound grenade. That was recovered from the scene wrapped in a red cloth.
The recovered grenade has a tag on it— NF24 Sound Grenade which was about 3.3 inches long. Later, it was handed over to Joypurhat sadar police station.
It is mentionable that on August 5 last year, during the student-public celebrations, the terrorists attacked the Joypurhat police station and looted weapons, ammunition and equipment. Earlier, RAB-5, Joypurhat Camp recovered 21 rounds of bullets and two walkie-talkies looted in that attack.
RAB is conducting an operation to recover other looted weapons and equipment, RAB sources said. RAB has appealed to the locals to provide information and cooperate in this incident.
