The AgriVenture: Student Agro-Leadership Bootcamp 2025 was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Saturday, aiming to inspire young people in agricultural innovation, enrichment, and sustainable development.

The program organized by the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) took place at the Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium around 10:00 a.m.

The event was chaired by Professor of Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Dr. Mohammad Abu Hena Mostafa Jamal while Special guests included Pro-Vice-Chancellor of IU, Professor Dr. M. Yakub Ali and Treasurer, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam. The keynote discussion was delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman of the Department of Pharmacy.

Speakers emphasized groundbreaking innovations in agriculture, advanced research, new discoveries, and overall development. They also stressed the importance of unlocking new opportunities in the global agricultural sector through research and collaboration.

Addressing the program, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Yakub Ali said: “We are now living in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. But the question remains—how much of this revolution are we truly able to utilize? It may happen that by the time we can fully benefit from it, the world may have already moved forward and started reaping the benefits of another industrial revolution.”

He added, “Our student generation is the driving force to move the country forward. Even after so many years of independence, we cannot yet claim that we have achieved the desired level of development. We must work with greater focus in these areas.”

Noted that IAAS founded in 1957 in Tunisia with just eight member countries, IAAS now has over 11,000 active members in around 56 countries. The organization launched its IU chapter in 2021, and since then, student members have been actively engaged in field-level data collection, surveys, research, and training programs.
