Businessman Shankar Saha (40) committed suicide by consuming poison inside the office of a company called HED Bangladesh after repaying his previous loan and taking another loan. The incident took place on Monday (August 8) afternoon at the HED Bangladesh Sangstha office in Ochkhali, Hatiya upazila of Noakhali.

The deceased Shankar Chandra Saha is the son of Sachindra Saha of Lakshmidia village, ward no. 9, Char Ishwar union, 5th upazila. He was a tea and various food items seller (shopkeeper) in Ochkhali Bazar.

The deceased’s brother Uttam Saha said that his brother had taken a loan of 2 lakh taka from HED Bangladesh Sangstha last year and had repaid it on time. On Monday afternoon, he went to the office of the organization after being assured that he would be given another loan. There, an argument broke out between the two.

Later in the evening, he received a call from the HID office informing him that his brother had consumed poison. Similarly, the deceased’s son Hridoy Saha was also informed about the same thing by calling his mobile. The relatives of the deceased alleged that this was a planned murder.

Meanwhile, Hatiya branch manager Kausar Uddin said that Shankar Saha had repaid his previous loan and after being informed that he would not be given a loan due to some irregularities when he came for a new loan, he went to the next bathroom and drank poison. He died after being taken to the hospital. On the other hand, area manager Alok Kumar Howlader said that what happened in the next room, I do not know the details. I heard that he committed suicide by drinking poison.

Hatiya police station OC AKM Ajmal Huda said that after receiving the information, the police recovered the body and it will be sent to Noakhali General Hospital for postmortem. Further legal action will be taken based on the family’s complaint. .
