Corruption allegations against Assistant Warehouse Officer of BADC Godown in Muksudpur
A number of irregularities and corruption allegations have been made against Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniyar, who has been working at the Government BADC Godown in Sindhia Ghat area of Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj for nearly 6 years, in the supply of government fertilizer.
In response to the allegations, an investigative team of media workers went to the area on Wednesday (September 10) morning for a report and found that several trucks were loaded with fertilizer from the godown without a permit (DO) from the concerned authority and a valid invoice, and then hurriedly left the godown.
Later, sensing the presence of media workers, the truck drivers carrying government fertilizer said that Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniyar of this warehouse asked us to load fertilizer into our trucks before the invoice arrived, so we loaded the fertilizer.
My truck has 20 tons of fertilizer which needs to be delivered to Pachchar.
Other trucks have also been loaded with different quantities of fertilizer.
At that time, the accused Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniya was not found in his office room when he went to the Sindiaghat BRDC warehouse in Muksudpur upazila. Later, after receiving news of the arrival of media personnel, he hurriedly came to the office and tried to manage the journalists but failed.
When the media personnel asked the accused Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniya about loading government fertilizer into the truck without a DO and challan, he said in a furious mood that he had loaded the truck in this way on the orders of his superiors.
When he was asked to say these things in front of the camera, he became even angrier and left his room, saying that he would go to the higher officials in Faridpur.
Several employees of the department, who did not want to reveal their names, said that Sir Patit joined the department in 2019 during the Awami League government.
Since his house is in the neighboring Satpar Union and he is close to the leaders and activists of the fallen government, he has been in the same workplace for many years and has been involved in various irregularities and corruption due to his stay there.
When the media workers returned after collecting investigative information and data, the accused Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniya recorded a video of the media workers on his cellphone and threatened to do whatever he could to the news. The accused Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniya and his people told the journalists that even the police are afraid to come to this godown, let alone journalists.
In this regard, Faridpur BADC Assistant Director (Fertilizer) Md. Saim Mallick told our correspondent on the phone that under no circumstances can BADC fertilizer be loaded into a truck and taken out of the godown without a challan.
Assistant Warehouse Officer Anirban Kirtaniya has been working there since the beginning of his job.
Due to the extreme mismanagement and arbitrariness of some unscrupulous officials and employees of BADC, various irregularities in the distribution of government fertilizers in the country have created an artificial crisis of fertilizers produced in the country.
Farmers cannot apply fertilizers to their lands on time.
Helpless farmers are helpless and then cheated by buying adulterated and low-quality fertilizers at high prices and are losing everything day after day.
Therefore, the affected helpless farmers and leaders of the conscious community have strongly demanded that strict action be taken against some of those unscrupulous officials and employees through a fair investigation.
