Ramu Press Club celebrates its 37th founding anniversary
The 37th founding anniversary of Ramu Press Club was celebrated with great enthusiasm. On Saturday (September 7) afternoon, a discussion meeting was organized at the Himchhari Conference Room of Ramu Upazila Parishad on this occasion. SM Jafar, former member secretary of Ramu Press Club, was felicitated for being elected as the general secretary of the Journalists Union Cox’s Bazar at the event.
Former president Khaled Shaheed delivered the welcome speech at the event presided over by acting president of Ramu Press Club M Abdullah Al Mamun.
At the beginning of the event, the Holy Quran was recited by Publicity Secretary Hafez Muhammad Abul Manjur. The contribution of all those who played a role in the establishment of Ramu Press Club in 1988 was remembered with respect in the meeting. The speakers also said that the members of Ramu Press Club are playing a leading role in clean journalism for the development, problems and prospects of Ramu Upazila and for public welfare. Honest journalism must be developed by maintaining a brotherhood and cordial atmosphere among journalists. In this regard, this anniversary event carries great importance.
At the end of the discussion meeting, the guest of honor SM Jafar was presented with a crest of honor by Ramu Press Club. At the same time, the guests celebrated 37 years of glory of Ramu Press Club by cutting a cake.
