An army operation in Sreepur Kharandeep, Jyosthapura areas of Boalkhali upazila has recovered 2 shotguns, 18 rounds of fresh bullets.
The operation was conducted at approximately 12.30 hours on Sunday, September 7.
The army camp said – based on confidential information from local sources, a special operation was conducted under the leadership of Major Md. Russell Pradhan, Camp Commander of Boalkhali Army Camp under the control of Adhoc 48 Air Defense Regiment, in a secret hideout of pirates in the Jyosthapura area of ​​Sreepur Kharandeep Union of Boalkhali upazila.
After searching the hideout, 18 rounds of fresh bullets, including 2 shotguns, were recovered.
Camp Commander Major Russell said that for several days, a pirate gang was trying to establish a reign of various crimes including drug trafficking, terrorism and extortion in the Karnaphuli River in this area.
The Boalkhali Army Camp will continue its operation to arrest the entire gang.The seized goods were handed over to the Boalkhali Police Station for further legal proceedings.
