The final game of Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Football Tournament was held in Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali district.
In the final game, East Subidakhali New Roxie defeated Kalapara XI by the XI 1-0. The award was presented to the winning team at Subidakhali Government’s E -Pilot Secondary School ground on Friday (September 5). Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP central co -organizational secretary Akan Kuddusur Rahman was present as the chief guest and former general secretary of the Chhatra Dal Central Parliament Saif Md. Jewel as special guest. Mirzaganj Upazila BNP president Alhaj Shahabuddin Nanu presided over the meeting. In addition to making the younger generation interested in sports, the guests urged the guests to stay away from drugs and antisocial activities. Also present were Mirzaganj Upazila BNP Vice-President Golam Farooq Munshi, Joint General Secretary Harun Aur Rashid Munshi, Mirzaganj Press Club President Kamruzzaman Jewel, Senior Joint convener of Upazila Jubo Dal Md. Footballer Rubel Hossain Sona directed the game. Subidakhali Government College Student Party Leader Md. Tawhid Islam organized. A large number of football -lovers enjoy the game. The game was organized to commemorate the young son of the martyr President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s youngest son late Arafat Rahman Koko. Arafat Rahman Coco was a sports lover, sports organizer and cricketer. He had a unlimited contribution to strengthening the international level of Bangladesh cricket.
