Death anniversaries of poets Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam celebrated at Cultural Academy

Cultural Academy of Birishiri Minority Ethnic Group in Durgapur celebrated the 84th and 49th death anniversaries of poets Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam..
On this occasion, a discussion meeting and cultural program were held at the Cultural Academy Hallroom on Thursday afternoon.
The discussion meeting was presided over by the director of the Cultural Academy, poet Parag Richil. The main speaker was distinguished educationist MA Jinnah, moderated by the academy’s dance teacher Mala Martha Areng. Among others, freedom fighter Sohrab Hossain Talukder, senior journalist Mohan Mia, President of Susanga Sammilit Sahitya Parishad Manjurul Haque Manju, poet John Croswell Khaksi, poet Sajim Shine, poet Shafiul Alam Swapan, spoke.
The guests said in the discussion that Rabindranath and Nazrul are two shining stars of Bengali literature. Their contribution has not only enriched literature and art, but has also deeply influenced our national consciousness and thought. The speakers inspired the younger generation and students to deeply study the literature and art works of these two poets.
After the discussion, in the evening, the artists of the Cultural Academy performed all the famous songs and dances of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
