A youth arrested with Tk 4 crore worth of yaba in Ramu

The police have arrested a youth with a huge quantity of yaba in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
On Tuesday, September 2 at 4 pm, the Ramu Police recovered a huge consignment of yaba from the Panjekhana-Sonaichhari road, south of the new graveyard in Madhyam Ghonar Para of Rajarkul Union under Ramu Police Station.
The arrested youth, Abu Taher (25), is the son of Sultan Ahmed of Ghilatoli area of Rajapalong Union in Ukhia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
130,000 pieces of yaba and a black Gixxer motorcycle were seized from him during the operation.
Ramu Police Station’s new OC Arif Hossain confirmed the arrest of a youth named Abu Taher with 130,000 yaba.
He said that the process of filing a regular case against the accused arrested in this incident is underway.
It is reported that the Sonai Chhari-Panjekhana road in the Bandar Ban area of the hilly region is being used as a safe route for Yaba and Bengali Cholai liquor.
In the past, Yaba worth 28 lakh taka was looted on that road.
Although a case has been registered at Ramu Police Station in that incident, it is reported that the police are not taking any steps to arrest the accused for mysterious reasons.
