Life sentence convict arrested after 29 years in Noakhali

A fugitive life sentence convict has been arrested by law enforcement in Noakhali.

The arrested Md. Yasin (55) is the son of the deceased Atiq Ullah of Dakshin Deliai village in Chatkhil upazila.

The accused will be handed over to the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court around noon on Today (September 2).
Earlier, Chatkhil police arrested him with the help of RAB-11 from the Chauhamuhoni bus stand area of ​​Begumganj on Monday evening.

Police said that on February 25, 1996, the Sessions Judge Court sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Tk 10,000 in a murder case of Lakshmipur Sadar Police Station.
He has been hiding in different areas since the verdict was announced. After the arrest, Yasin revealed his identity during interrogation and admitted that he was a warranted accused.

Chatkhil Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Firoz Uddin Chowdhury said that Mohammad Firoz Uddin Chowdhury was arrested in a special operation with the help of RAB-11.
He is a warranted accused sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 taka in GR 109/1996, Session-11/1999.
He was hiding in various places in disguise. He will be sent to prison through the court.
