BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said the 13th national elections will be held in February. He said that no force can stop the February elections. Salahuddin Ahmed made these remarks as the chief guest while inaugurating the Netrakona district BNP conference at the city’s Moktarpara ground on Saturday afternoon. Salahuddin Ahmed said, “Those who are declaring that there will be no elections without the PR system are saying these things for a different purpose.” A political party is also saying at a press conference that they will not allow the election to be held without PR. I am announcing that the National Assembly elections will be held a week before the start of Ramadan in 2026. No one can stop that election. No one has that power. “Those who want to disrupt the elections are creating confusion with various excuses and trivial matters.” The district BNP conference is being held after 11 years under the chairmanship of District BNP Convener Dr. Anwarul Haque and the management of Member Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam Hilali. BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Syed Alamgir Hasan, BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince, former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar, BNP Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal and others spoke at the conference. District and upazila BNP leaders and media personnel were present at the time.
