A tree plantation program was held at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU) under the initiative of Rover Scouts and in collaboration with As-Sunnah Foundation. Under the program, approximately 400 fruit, flower, medicinal and ornamental tree saplings will be planted at the university.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekhar and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Hasan inaugurated the program by planting rose saplings on the university campus on Monday (August 25). After the inauguration, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekhar said, “Our university is among the two universities in the country that have been included in this tree plantation program.” For this, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Rover Scout and As-Sunnah Foundation on behalf of the university administration. Hopefully, their tree planting program will continue in the future and they will extend a helping hand at different times. At that time, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Zilhas Ahmed Jewel, Editor of Rover Scout Md. Maznur Rashid, President of the English Department Md. Zubair Al Mahmud, President of the Botany Department Dr. Nahmina Begum, and Representative of As-Sunnah Foundation Mohammad Nur Uddin were present.
