Human chain formed in Ramu demanding 6-lane expansion of Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway

A human chain and rally have been held in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, demanding the upgrading of the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway to 6 lanes. Leaders of various political parties as well as various social and voluntary organizations participated in the human chain and rally organized at Khalequzzaman Square, Ramu Bypass at 10 am on Sunday, August 24, under the initiative of the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway 6- Lane Implementation Committee, Cox’s Bazar and Ramu Sammilit Nagorik Parishad. Speakers at the human chain and rally said that the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway is an important road in the country. Since Cox’s Bazar is a tourism-dependent city, thousands of people travel on this road every day. However, due to the narrow highway, accidents are constantly happening and traffic jams are being created. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to upgrade this highway to 6 lanes to reduce public suffering and ensure safe and comfortable communication.
