BNKS Citizen Dialogue: Call to stop violence against all women in the country

Aminul Islam Baccu, President of the Bandarban Press Club,has called for an end to violence against all women in the country and for resistance.Aminul islam Baccu made this call at a dialogue meeting on the role of media,social media and civil society citizens in preventing violence against women organized by BNKS and supported by Diakonia Bangladesh on Wednesday (August 20) morning.In his speech as the chief guest, he also said that women are not a burden on the country, women are now moving forward on an equal footing with men.But when women talk about their rights,they have to face various problems.Therefore,the government should prioritize the freedom of every woman and also legally grant women rights.District Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee President Angchamong Marma,senior journalist of Dainik Prothom Alo Buddhajyoti Chakma,BNKS President Nemkim bawm,Deputy Executive Director Ubanu Marma and other leaders of Sushil Samaj were present at the meeting held at the Press Club Hallroom.Incidentally,at the meeting,BNKS Deputy Director Ubanu Marma said that seven rape cases had occurred in Bandarban district from January to August 20 this year.He also mentioned that 27 other incidents of dowry, domestic violence,mental and physical abuse had occurred.
