Xentek to Conduct Feasibility Study on 5G Smart Port Services at Chattogram Port

Xentek PLC, a subsidiary of Robi Axiata PLC, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) to conduct a feasibility study on introducing fifth-generation (5G) smart port services through automation.

The MOU signing ceremony took place yesterday at the CPA headquarters, with Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun attending as the chief guest. CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M. Muniruzzaman, OSP, NDC, NCC, PSC, signed the agreement on behalf of the port authority, while Xentek Managing Director and CEO Adil Hossain Noble represented the company.

Under the agreement, Xentek will assess the potential for building a private 5G network at Chattogram Port to support advanced services such as comprehensive security monitoring, smart access control, testing lab automation, and the operation of vehicles and gantry cranes using smart technologies.

“Our commitment is to deliver Robi’s 5G-based services to enterprises across the country. Partnering with Chattogram Port marks a milestone in our 5G journey, and we believe our smart solutions will enhance the port authority’s operational efficiency,” said Adil Hossain Noble.

Robi Axiata’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Shahed Alam, Cluster Market Director Md Ashraful Kabir, Xentek’s Chief Commercial Officer Abul Kalam Mohammad Nazmul Islam and Director of Corporate Business Md Asaduzzaman, along with other senior officials from both organizations, were present at the event.
