A human chain was organized by the Shibpur Press Club in Narsingdi to protest the killing of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur, demand the trial of the culprits, and ensure the safety of journalists across the country. The human chain was held in front of the Press Club on Sunday morning. Teachers, imams, and journalists from print and electronic media participated in the human chain. At that time, the speakers said that journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin was brutally hacked to death in public in Gazipur. As a result, journalists across the country, including in Gazipur, are expressing concern and feeling insecure. The journalists demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the incident, bringing those responsible to justice, and exemplary punishment for them. The human chain demanded the proper implementation of the Journalist Protection Act, calling on the government to ensure the safety of journalists across the country, including in Narsingdi. At this time, Press Club President SM Khorshed Alam, Shibpur Government Pilot Model High School Headmaster Nuruddin Mohammad Alamgir, Upazila Imam Parishad President Maoist Moktar Hossain, poet and writer Nuruddin Dorji, former Press Club President Asaduzzaman Asad, General Secretary Sheikh Manik, Joint Secretary Mahbub Khan, former Joint Secretary Momen Khan, former Press Club General Secretary Arif Hasan, former Convener Alam Khan and Hafez Maoist Ariful Islam, along with other journalists, also spoke.
